Employer Qualified / Exempted from WC Coverage
Employers Requiring a WC Insurance Coverage:
The territory, any agency or instrumentality thereof, including a public or quasi-public corporation, and any other political subdivision of the Territory which has one or more employees.
An employer who has employees exempted under Title 32: Chapter 5 and Chapter 6 of the A.S.C.A. and who elects to be subjected to both Chapters such election shall be made by the employer by securing the payment of compensation to such exempted employees.
Independent contractors employing 3 or more employees.
Employers Exempted for WC Insurance Coverage:
"Minor Employer" or an employer with 2 or fewer employees regularly employed. However, the right of an employee to file a written complaint before the Commission against such employer engaging in an occupational hazardous to employees cannot be denied.
Any person employing individuals for whom a rule of liability for injuries or death arising out of and in the course of employment is provided by the laws of the United States.
An employer or individual hiring an independent contractor to carry a service whose employee(s) have injured from or during the course of such employment.
